KK Jazz Festival

(Click on picture to see small prints)

The Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu is organising the Kota Kinabalu Jazz Festival on 21 June 2008. It will be held at The Gourmet Lane, 1Borneo Hypermall (6:00pm - 11:30pm). Tickets are priced at RM50 and RM100 each. This is part of our club's fund-raising event to finance our many charity projects.

Not exactly the kind of entertainment I am crazy about, but if any of you (especially friends in KK) would like to buy tickets, please let me know soon. Apparently tickets are selling fast, but I really don't know what's the excitement all about.

A lady friend said that she's definitely going for this show because Aseana Percussion will be there. Again, that name doesn't ring a bell to me. But well, if it can sell tickets, then I will capitalise on that name so that I can psycho you young people to buy more tickets to listen to loud noises for a few hours.

CK, as you already know, 1Borneo Hypermall is the newest attraction here in KK. The developer claims that it is the "Happening Place" in KK; it is a one stop business and entertainment centre. The soft opening will be this Sunday.

The 1Borneo development will accommodate hotels, condominiums, a huge aquarium, cineplexes, supermarket and department stores, arcade shops, and almost anything you can think of! "Branded names" will be concentrating here as well.

However, as you can probably guess also, that is not exactly the main reason why we're holding the Jazz Festival there this year. 1Borneo is the main sponsor for the KK Jazz Festival 2008. The developer is one of the very few ones which is not afraid to spend for the promotion of the project. You can find their advertisements all over the place—at airports, KL Sentral etc. They are making a very big entrance!

Next year, when I do the KK Challenge 5, I will try to approach them for sponsor... hehehe

A walk hunt is indeed an interesting idea. Unfortunately, I have never organized one before. I know there are plenty such hunts in the west. Maybe I will join one one of these days.

But as far as 1Borneo is concerned, it is not ready for a walk hunt. It will take at least a few more months from now. But I don't know if I will have the time to actually clerk a hunt in the future.

A lot of time and efforts are required to organize a hunt. Whenever I do a hunt I'd like it to be perfect, even though I know that "no one is perfect"! If I want other CoCs to be perfect with their questions, then I must try to do so myself! Some of my finished products may appear so easy and simple, but actually so much time had been spent on them... the finer points, the tricks etc. Master pieces hardly ever happen accidentally. I am sure other CoCs will tell you the same.

But this thread is about JAZZ! So how many tickets are you buying from me, CK?... hehehe

Nah... whatever you do, don't you dare miss my hunt!... HAHAHA!

Go check out the Bad News, Good News thread. I've made some more comments there. Perhaps of some interest to you. It seems that 2R1I is a bit shaken by my comments... hehehe (Orang seberang takut kah?... hehehe)

Aiya, if no one buys any tickets from me, I will end up absorbing tickets worth RM1,000. Don't be like that lah. Help me out here!... hehehe. Harga minyak sudah naik!

This lately so much money spent lah. Several parties approached me for the China/Myanmar donations. Everything naik harga, how to survive? Not much left to join treasure hunts in KL!... HAHAHA!
