Since several people have said that I am an old-fashioned guy, I guess there is nothing much I can say to defend myself—there must be some truth in it!
I don't expect all the tennis players to wear only white outfits. That would probably be boring and such a nightmare for the fashion designers of all those sports brands like Nike and Adidas.
When people are very rich and famous, they are almost expected to be eccentric, weird, in whatever they do, say, wear...

I welcome your views, and very rarely censor your opinions whether good or bad, except for spams and something which I deem as racist remarks.
An anonymous commenter posted something which contained only 2 words, the second of which is what I thought a racist word. I have therefore removed that word and only retained the first word.
Here's what's left of that comment:

Ahhhh...is this another hunt question for us to guess Corny?? ****** Haha.....
Anyway, kudos to the William sisters. Both are rare breed or should I say special - Fashion & most importantly their talent plus entertainment they brought in the game of tennis. Just wonder which next tennis players can up the ante....wearing a bikini in a match?? I guess it would be Novak Djokovic!!
teo,
I must admit that the Williams sisters are forces to be reckoned with in the world of tennis, there is no doubt about it! But I'm not sure about their tastes in fashion though.
Perhaps some people out there are impressed, but it's so hard for me to see these outfits are beautiful!
Then again, I have seen those so called fashion shows by very famous designers in Paris. Very skinny women with hair set up with hats secured by hair clips that would cause migraines; dress worn with no possibility for comfort etc. So I guess the problem is with me, not the rest of the world!... hehehe.
Bikinis for tennis? Yeah right, that'll be the day!
I stopped watching women tennis because of these two sisters. They should be competing in the men's event.
I can't help putting in my 2 cents worth here.
First of all I think the stars (tennis players, swimmers, etc) are paid hefty sums to wear them. The logic is simple here. If you pay me to wear them, I will wear them, not because they looks good on me,but it is the money I get for doing so.
Did you notice that there is a different trend set by the tennis players for each year?
I can still remember the fashion mode for tennis wear worn by Maria Sharapova 2 years ago.
They appears to look kinda sexy, flirtatious and kinky like bed clothes or clothes women wear when going to bed!
That makes me wonder how much Anna Kournikova was paid for endorsing the sports bra with that cheeky slogan "Only the ball should bounce"..
Anonymous,
I'm not a big fan of tennis. But although I don't deny that tennis has a lot to do with strength and size, I think the skill factor is also a major part of it. Hence we can still see people like Kim Clijsters who's shorter and having lesser muscles outplaying these sisters.
Socrates29,
That is usually the case for these famous people, i.e. they get paid for wearing sports products for the money, and not necessarily because they think they look great in them.
But in the case of Venus Williams, it's slightly a different case. She's into fashion herself and some of these weird outfits are her own creations. To me it's quite obvious that she's much better off spending her time on tennis; just let some other people handle the fashion thing.
kkchai,
When it comes to Kournikova, I doubt that anyone would even pay any attention to the bras. I suspect people still see her as a goddess no matter what she wears. At any rate, don't know if too much bouncing is any good for the balls...
